NCERT notes for class 7: English Chapter 1- The Three questions (part-2)

Part I- The hermit

The king was not satisfied with the answers of those wise men, so he didn't gave them any reward. Then he came to know about a very wise hermit.  The hermit will only see ordinary people, so king dressed in normal clothes, leaving behind his horse and bodyguards and went to the hermit’s hut. The hermit was an old man and was busy digging the ground in front of his house, the king took the duty of digging as the hermit looked tired and told the hermit that he has come in search of answers for his three questions and repeated them.

Part II- The wounded man

While the king was talking to hermit, a wounded man came from the bushes, with a cut on his stomach. The king and the hermit cleaned the wound of the man and bandaged him. The man felt better and asked for some water. Hermit and the king took the man inside the house. The man was lying quiet inside the house and the tired king too fell asleep on the ground.
