नागरिक

 

हमारे देश भारत का प्रथम नागरिक राष्ट्रपति होता है और 27 वें नागरिक भारत की जनता। आइए जानें, इसके बीच कौन-कौन आता है।

 

श्री रामनाथ कोविंद भारत के 14 वें राष्ट्रपति हैं। भारत के संविधान के अनुसार भारत का राष्ट्रपति देश का प्रथम नागरिक है।

संविधान के अनुसार एक पूरी लिस्ट तैयार की गयी है जिसमें यह बताया गया है कि पहले स्थान पर कौन है और उसके बाद 27 वें स्थान जनता तक कौन-कौन है।

 

चलिए देखते हैं पूरी लिस्ट

 

भारत का प्रथम नागरिक : देश का राष्ट्रपति।

 

द्वितीय नागरिक : देश का उप राष्ट्रपति।

आपको बता दें इस समय भारत के उप राष्ट्रपति श्री वेंकैया नायडू हैं।

 

तृतीय नागरिक : प्रधानमंत्री।

इस समय भारत के प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी हैं।

 

चतुर्थ नागरिक : राज्यपाल। (संबंधित राज्यों के सभी)

 

पंचम नागरिक : देश के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति और पंचम (अ) देश के पूर्व उपराष्ट्रपति।

 

छठवाँ नागरिक : भारत के मुख्य न्यायधीश और लोकसभा अध्यक्ष।

 

सप्तम नागरिक : केंद्रीय कैबिनेट मंत्री, मुख्यमंत्री (संबंधित सभी राज्यों के), योजना आयोग के उपाध्यक्ष, पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री, राज्यसभा और लोकसभा में विपक्ष के नेता और सप्तम (अ) सभी भारत रत्न पुरस्कार विजेता।

 

अष्टम नागरिक : भारत में मान्यता प्राप्त राजदूत, मुख्यमंत्री (संबंधित राज्यों से बाहर के) , राज्यपाल (अपने संबंधित राज्यों से बाहर के)

 

नवम नागरिक : सुप्रीम कोर्ट के जज, नवम (अ) यूनियन पब्लिक सर्सिस कमिशन (यूपीएससी) के चेयरपर्सन, चीफ इलेक्शन कमिशनर, भारत के नियंत्रक और महालेखा परीक्षक।

 

दशम नागरिक : राज्यसभा के डिप्टी चेयरमैन, डिप्टी चीफ मिनिस्टर्स, लोकसभा के डिप्टी स्पीकर, योजना आयोग के सदस्य (वर्तमान में नीति आयोग), राज्यों के मंत्री (सुरक्षा से जुड़े मंत्रालयों के अन्य मंत्री)

 

ग्यारहवें नागरिक : अटर्नी जर्नल (एजी), कैबिनेट सचिव, उप राज्यपाल (केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों के भी शामिल)

 

बारहवें नागरिक : पूर्ण जनरल या समकक्ष रैंक वाले कर्मचारियों के चीफ।

 

तेरहवें नागरिक : राजदूत ,असाधारण और पूर्ण नियोक्ता जो कि भारत में मान्यता प्राप्त हैं।

 

चौदहवें नागरिक : राज्यों के चेयरमैन और राज्य विधानसभा के स्पीकर (सभी राज्य शामिल), हाई कोर्ट के चीफ जस्टिस (सभी राज्यों की पीठ के जज शामिल)

 

पंद्रहवे नागरिक :  राज्यों के कैबिनेट मिनिस्टर्स (सभी राज्यों के शामिल), केंद्र शासित राज्यों के मुख्यमंत्री, दिल्ली के मुख्य कार्यकारी काउंसिलर (सभी केंद्र शासित राज्य) केंद्र के उपमंत्री।

 

सोलहवें नागरिक : लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल या समकक्ष रैंक का पद धारण करने वाले स्टाफ के प्रमुख अधिकारी।

 

सत्रहवें नागरिक : अल्पसंख्यक आयोग के अध्यक्ष, अनुसूचित जाति के राष्ट्रीय आयोग के अध्यक्ष, अनुसूचित जनजाति के राष्ट्रीय आयोग के अध्यक्ष, उच्च न्यायालयों के मुख्य न्यायाधीश (उनके संबंधित न्यायालय के बाहर), उच्च न्यायालयों के पीयूज न्यायाधीश (उनके संबंधित अधिकार क्षेत्र में)

- American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ) will invest Rs. 555 crore in Biocon Biologics.

- ADQ will invest Rs. 555 crore for minority stake in biosimilar business, valuing Biocon Biologics at post money valuation of $4.17 billion.

- A biosimilar is a biologic medical product highly similar to another already approved biological medicine.

2. AP signs MoU with Cambridge University to improve English.

- A Memorandum of  Understanding was signed between the Cambridge University and Andhra Pradesh.

The MoU was signed by Vijay Kumar, Commissioner of Municipal Administration on behalf of the State Government and TK Arunachalam, Regional Director of Cambridge University, South Asia.

•TRIFED signs MoU with Akhil Bhartiya Ashram 


TRIFED (Tribal Co-operative Marketing Federation of India) under Ministry of Tribal Affairs, has signed an MoU with Akhil Bhartiya Vanvasi Kalyan Kendra.  The MoU was exchanged between the two organisations on January 3, 2021, to work together for setting up of TRIFOOD Parks in 5 districts in Madhya Pradesh. The two organisations will work together by undertaking various initiatives.

Sanjay Kapoor was elected President of the All India Chess Federation (AICF) while Bharat Singh Chauhan retained the Secretary's post in the polls held online on 4 Jan 2021. Kapoor, representing Uttar Pradesh Chess Association, defeated incumbent P R Venketrama Raja in a close contest. Naresh Sharma, belonging to the Chauhan faction, was elected as treasurer,

•Tata Power, SIDBI to finance MSMEs 


Tata Power has announced a partnership with Small Industries Bank of India (SIDBI) to provide affordable financing scheme for MSME customers in the rooftop solar segment. The scheme will empower MSMEs to adopt sustainable energy for their businesses. Tata Power and SIDBI will provide a financing solution without any collateral at an interest rate of less than 10 per cent.

•Ramalingeswara Park inaugurated 


Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurated Ramlingeshwar Park in Berhampur of Ganjam district, through video conferencing on 4 Jan 2021. The Ramlingeshwar Reservoir and Park has been built at a cost of Rs 12 crore.The park has a huge statue of Lord Shiva in the centre of the pond. Besides, water fountains have also been put in the park.

•Desh Nayak Diwas on 23 January 


To mark the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, West Bengal will observe January 23 as 'Desh Nayak Diwas. A national university will also be built-in Netaji's memory. On January 23, 2021, a rally will be taken out from Shyambazar to Netaji Statue in Kolkata, along with the police band. A tableau will also be displayed on the theme based on Netaji's life on January 26, 2021.

•DRDO to boost mushroom farming in Northeast 


Defence Research Laboratory (DRL), under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has conducted a three-day skill development program on mushroom farming and spawn production technology in Jan 2021. In the training session, participants from Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Assam have imparted training on oyster mushroom cultivation technology.

•Centum Electronics Limited receives an award 


Centum Electronics Limited has been awarded the Defence Technology Absorption Award by DRDO. The award was handed over to Centum CMD, Apparao V Mallavarapu by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. It is given in recognition of Centum Electronics’ outstanding contribution towards the absorption of critical technology in defence space systems and pioneering the development of space-grade hardware.

•Tamil Nadu announces a public holiday 


Tamil Nadu CM K Palaniswami has declared government holiday on January 28 on account of Thaipusam festival celebrated in the honour of Lord Murugan. Thaipusam is an important festival that is celebrated in Tamil Nadu and also in Kerala and foreign countries like Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Singapore and Malaysia. Thaipusam will be included in the list of public holidays in the coming years.

The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has launched a new initiative Prayaas to address the needs of the local communities near its fuel stations. 

Shyam Bohra, Executive Director and State Head of Delhi and Haryana State Office, distributed blankets to the inhabitants of night shelters near |OC-owned company-operated outlet in Jangpura, on 4 Jan 2021. These shelters are run by the Delhi govt.

•ADB signs $100-mn loan with Indian gov 


Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Indian government signed a $100-million dollar loan on 31 December 2020. This loan will be used to enhance the power distribution system of Bengaluru in Karnataka with an aim to modernise and upgrade the power distribution system.  This loan will help to enhance the quality and reliability of electricity supply in Bengaluru city.

The Uttar Pradesh Government has approved the first investment proposal under the State Warehousing and Logistics Policy-2018 for the establishment of a warehousing unit in Lucknow. Union Minister of State V Muraleedharan announced that the fourth Global Ayurveda Festival (GAF 2021) will be held from March 12 to 19 in Kerala as a virtual meet  Union Minister of State V Muraleedharan is the chairman of this Ayurveda festival. The fest would feature 12 seminars per day at five venues. The festival which was scheduled in May 2020 was postponed due to the pandemic.

Highly awaited mobile video game FAU-G Is all set to launch on India's 71th Republic day on 26th January 2021. FAU-G will be a third-person shooter game featuring a level based on the recent Indo-China clashes in eastern Ladakh. The launch date of the FAU-G game was announced by nCore Games by its brand ambassador and Bollywood star Akshay Kumar.

•Malayalam Poet Anil Panachooran dies 


Well-known Malayalam poet and lyricist Anil Panachooran died at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram at night after suffering a heart attack on 3rd January 2021. Anil Panachooran who tested positive for COVID-19 was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kollam district. He was known for his famous lyrics in movies like Arabikadha and Madambi.

•January 4: World Braille Day 


World Braille Day is observed on January 4 every year on the birth anniversary of Louis Braille who was the inventor of the Braille language. Louis Braille has created a language called “Braille” for the visually impaired so that they can also read and write. The first-ever World Braille Day was celebrated on January 4 in 2019 after it was approved by the United Nations General Assembly.

•US gov passes Malala Yousafzai Scholarship Act 


The U.S. Congress has passed the ‘Malala Yousafzai Scholarship Act’ for Pakistani women. The bill now heads to the White House for US President Donald Trump to sign into law. The bill requires the US Agency for International Development to award at least 50 percent of scholarships under a Pakistan-based higher education scholarship program to Pakistani women, from 2020 to 2022.

•Germany approves over €1bn in arms deal 


The German government approved a total of €1.16 billion ($1.41 billion) in arms exports during 2020 to countries involved in both the Yemen and Libya conflicts. In 2020, the German government signed off on weapons exports to countries involved in the deadly conflicts in Yemen and Libya. Germany is one of the top five arms exporters worldwide, along with the US, Russia, France, and China.

•S Muralidhar: New Chief Justice of Orissa HC 


Justice S Muralidhar took oath as the new Chief Justice of Orissa High Court on the 4th of January 2021. Justice Muralidhar is the 32nd Chief Justice of Orissa High Court. He succeeds his predecessor Justice Mohammad Rafiq, who has been transferred and appointed as the new Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

•Train services started in Bengaluru airport 


The much-awaited train services from Bengaluru city to Kempegowda International Airport has started on the 4th January 2021. The first train left KSR Bengaluru at 4.45 a.m and reached the newly-built halt station near the Airport at 5.50 a.m. This train service comes as a huge relief for passengers and thousands of people working at the airport.

•L&T bags over Rs 7,000 Cr order from HPCL 


L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Turbo has bagged an over Rs 7,000 crore order from HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Ltd (HRRL) for setting up a dual-feed cracker unit. HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Ltd is a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) and the Government of Rajasthan.

•Woolly rhino from the Ice Age found in Russia 


A well-preserved Ice Age woolly rhino with many of its internal organs still intact has been recovered from permafrost in Russia's extreme north. The carcass was found on the bank of the Tirekhtyakh river in the Abyisk district, close to the area where another young woolly rhino was recovered in 2014. Scientists dated the carcass as anywhere from 20,000 to 50,000-years-old.

•Chinese firm gets contract for RRTS project 


The National Capital Region Transport Corporation has awarded a contract to a Chinese company, Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Company Limited, for the construction of a 5.6-kilometer, underground stretch, from New Ashok Nagar to Sahibabad, of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS project. The contract will be awarded a certain set of procedures and guidelines.

•PM Modi delivers inaugural address at NMC 


PM Modi virtually inaugurated the National Metrology Conclave on January 4th, 2021. The theme of the conclave was ‘Metrology for the Inclusive Growth of the Nation. The conclave has been organized by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL). CSIR-NPL has completed 74 years after its inception.

• FSSAI slashes limit for trans fat levels 


The Food Safety and Standards Authority 

of India has capped the amount of trans fatty acids (TFA) in oils and fats to 3% for 2021 and 2% by 2022 from the current permissible limit of 5% through an amendment to the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restriction on Sales) Regulations. Trans fats are associated with increased risk of heart attacks and death from coronary heart disease.

• Hollywood filmmaker Joan Micklin Silver, who directed films like 'Hester Street’ and 'Crossing Delancey’, passed awayin January 2021. 

•Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska to Russian Jewish parents, Silver left home to attend Sarah Lawrence College in New York. 

•Silver made her film debut in 1967, and Silver began writing scripts for educational films for children.

2. Bihar govt installs IT devices to water towers 


•Bihar's Panchayati Raj Department has installed computer-based application to keep a tab on the operation of motorised pumps across Bihar. 

•All water towers would be equipped with specially designed device, internet of things, to calculate operation time of pumps and flow of water from the towers. 

•The device will also detect wastage or excessive use of water by the people.

3. Tesla opens its biggest supercharger facility 


•Tesla launched the world's largest Supercharger station in China's Shanghai with 72 charging stalls in Jan 2021. 

•Tesla beat its own record of single-point EV super-charging station with 56 stalls opened in California in November 2020. 

•The new superchargers come with a charging capacity of the 120 kW while the superchargers in California get a much faster 250 kW charging speed.

• India has sent over six tons of relief material to Fiji for its cyclone-affected people, reflecting its close ties with the island nation in the South Pacific. 

•The relief material sent in the wake of tropical cyclone Yasa highlighted India's commitment to providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief support to friendly foreign countries as a first responder.

5. 03 January: Savitribai Phule birth anniversary 


•January 3 marks the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule. 

•She is known for her contribution in the field of women's education, She was born on January 3, 1831, in Maharashtra’s Satara district in a country ruled by the Britishers, where women rights were non-existent. 

•She is widely regarded as a woman teacher who campaigned to create awareness on the need for education for women.

6. IDBI Bank sells 23% stake in life insurance JV 


•IDBI Bank has sold 23 per cent stake in IDBI Federal Life Insurance Company Ltd (IFLI) to Ageas Insurance International NV for 3507.10 crores.

•Following this transaction, the joint venture has been rebranded as Ageas Federal Life Insurance Company Ltd. 

•IFLI is a three-way joint venture of IDB! Bank, Belgium's Ageas and Federal Bank.

7. Tata Sons largest promoter of listed companies 


•Tata Sons has emerged as the largest promoter of listed companies at the end of 2020. 

•The company replaced central government as the largest promoter at the end of a tumultuous year for the equity market which saw benchmark indices hit record lows and highs. 

•Tata Sons' stake in the listed companies of the conglomerate rose 34.4% on annual basis to Rs 9,28 lakh crore.

8. J S Banerjee new Chief Justice for Madras HC 


•President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Justice Sanjib Banerjee as the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court. 

•He would be succeeding Chief Justice Amreshwar Pratap Sahi, who retired from service on 31 December 2020. 

•He was elevated as a permanent judge of the Calcutta High Court on June 22, 2006, and was now the seniormost puisne judge there.

9. Tamil film producer K Balu passes away 


•Renowned Tamil film producer K Balu has passed away in January 2021. 

•He was known for bankrolling films like Prabhu and Kushboo starring Chinna Thambi under his banner KP Films.

•Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated river cruise Brahmaputra’r Mukuta at the bank of the Brahmaputra near Bogibeel bridge in Dibrugarh on 31 Dec 2020. 

•The cruise built-in one-and-half-year is an ABCD Exploration Company project with the initiative of two local youths, Dhiraj Bikas Gogoi and Uday Shankar Mohan.

12. Gujarat BJP MP Mansukh Vasava quits party 


•Gujarat BJP MP and former Union Minister Mansukh Vasava has quit the party and announced that he would resign from Lok Sabha in the budget session of Parliament. 

•He has been vocal on tribal issues and had written a letter to PM Narendra Modi seeking withdrawal of a Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change notification declaring 121 villages of Narmada district as eco-sensitive zone.

13. Dagmara Baskova banned for match-fixing 


•Slovakian tennis player Dagmara Baskova has been banned for a period of 12 years after an investigation by the Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU) uncovered five incidents of match-fixing by the player in 2017. 

•Baskova, who had the highest WTA ranking of 1117 in singles and 777 in doubles, has also been fined $40,000, 

•The majority of the fine is suspended, with $1,000 payable within 90 days.

•Tamil director and writer llavenil passed away in January 2021, 

• The director is known for his film Uliyin Osai, which was written by Karunanidhi, and produced by S. P. Murugesan.

15. Lenovo to start manufacturing tablets in India 


•Personal Computer (PC) maker Lenovo is going to start manufacturing tablets in India through an original design manufacturer. 

•The company is also planning to increase laptop manufacturing facility by about 10 times at its Puducherry facility. 

•Lenovo was ranked second after HP in terms of shipment of personal computers (PCs) in India in July-September 2020 period.

• International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) has become an associate member of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO),

•The first IFSC in the country has been set up in Gandhinagar.

18. PMC's “plug and key” garbage processing units 


•The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has introduced ‘plug and key' garbage processing units to save time and money. 

• The new units installed on vehicles with various types of mesh attached with a conveyor belt will segregate dry garbage. 

•Post segregation of garbage, the residue will be sent to scientific landfilling in Uruli garbage depot which is lawful as per National Green Tribunal order.

19. Dabholkar Memorial Award for DK chief 


•The Dr Narendra Dabholkar Memorial Award for 2020 has been conferred upon Dravidar Kazhagam President K. Veeramani. 

•The award was instituted in the memory of the Maharashtra-based rationalist Dabholkar, who was killed some years ago. 

• It includes 21 lakh and a citation. « Mr Veeramani has dedicated his whole life to 

propagate rationalism and served for the cause of social justice in society. 


20. 01 January : Global Family Day 


•Global Family Day is celebrated annually 

on January 1 in different parts of the world, especially in the United States, as a global day of peace and sharing. 

•It was first observed in the year 2000 on January 1.

 1. GST Revenue collection recorded all time high 


•Over 1.15 lakh cr gross GST revenue was collected in Dec 2020 which is 12% higher than the GST revenues Dec 2019. 

•The gross GST revenue collected in Dec'20 is 2 115,174 cr of which CGST is 21,365 cr, SGST is 2 27,804 cr, and IGST is 57,426 cr. 

•The GST revenues during Dec'20 have been the highest since the introduction of GST and it is the first time that it has crossed 1.15 lakh cr.

2. New method of producing hydrogen peroxide 


•Scientists have found an efficient and inexpensive method for producing hydrogen peroxide. 

•Researchers from Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS) have shown that a chemical called Nickel cobalt phosphite (NiCo-Phi) decorated with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) can facilitate ORR to produce H202 selectively in high yield. 

•The research was published in the journal ChemElectroChem.

•China's Zhong Shanshan has become Asia's richest person, replacing India's Mukesh Ambani and a group of Chinese tech titans including Jack Ma. 

• Zhong’s net worth has surged $70.9 billion in 2021 to $77.8 billion, making him the 11th-richest person on the planet, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. 

•It's one of the fastest accumulations of wealth in history.

4. Indian Army creates a new human rights cell 


•The Indian Army has created a new human rights cell for greater transparency and probity in its functioning in disturbed areas like J&K and the northeast. 

•Major General Gautam Chauhan, who was commissioned into the Gorkha Rifles, has taken charge as the first additional director general (human rights) at the Army headquarters in New Delhi. 

•He will report directly to the Army Vice-Chief.

5. RBI introduces Digital Payments Index 


•The RBI has constructed a composite Digital Payments Index (DPI) to capture the extent of digitisation of payments across the country. 

•It comprises of five broad parameters that enable measurement of deepening and penetration of digital payments in the country over different time periods. 

•It has been constructed with March 2018 as the base period, with a DPI score for of 100.

6. Delhi govt extends water bill waiver scheme 


•The Delhi government has extended till March 31, 2021, its scheme offering a one-time waiver of water bill arrears and late payment surcharge. 

•Under the scheme, all categories of houses get an exemption from late fee payments, while their pending water bills are waived partly or fully depending on the housing category. 

•The scheme was launched in August 2020,

7. Indian Army signs contract with Goa Shipyard 


•The Indian Army has signed a contract with Goa Shipyard Limited for 12 fast patrol boats for surveillance and patrolling of large water bodies. 

•The boats would be used for patrols in high altitude regions. 

•The signing of the contract comes eight months after India first detected intrusions by Chinese soldiers into Indian territory including along the banks of the Pangong Tso lake.

•Bajaj Auto has become the first two-wheeler company across the globe to cross a market capitalisation of 1-lakh crore (around $13.6 billion). 

•Bajaj Auto is the world's third-largest manufacturer of motorcycles and the largest manufacturer of three-wheelers. 

•The company has its manufacturing facilities at Chakan near Pune, Waluj (Aurangabad) and Pantnagar (Uttrakhand).

• The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has unveiled an e-commerce portal eKhadilndia.com. 

• Over 50,000 products, ranging from apparel to home decor, will be available on its newly launched platform. 

•The portal is the first-of-its-kind government online shopping platform to boost the rural economy and become self-sustainable.

10. 215 lakh penalty imposed on Bharti AXA 


•Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI) has imposed a total penalty of 215 lakh on Bharti AXA General Insurance Company. 

•It has been fined in two different cases for violation of various provisions concerning motor insurance. 

• IRDAI imposed a penalty of 210 lakh on it for non-compliance with minimum obligations under regulations concerning third-party motor insurance business.

•Canara Bank has raised 21,635 crores through the issuance of additional tier-| bonds.

•In the 2nd quarter ended Sept'20, it reported a 28% dip in profit after tax at 444 cr compared to %616 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal,

2. Delhi's air quality in Dec best in 4 years 


•Pollution levels in Delhi in December 2020 were the lowest in the last four years, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). 

•The average air quality index (AQI) for December 2020 stood at 308. 

•It was 337 in 2019, 360 in 2018 and 316 in 2017, the CPCB data showed. 

•It recorded four "severe" air quality days in Dec'20 as compared to eight each in 2019 and 2018 and one in 2017.

3. GoAir announces expansion of services to UAE 


•GoAir has announced the expansion of its services to the UAE with the launch of new flights to Sharjah from Mumbai, Delhi, Kochi and Kannur. 

•These flights started from 1 January 2021. 

•Currently, flights to the UAE are operated under an Air Bubble Agreement since international commercial flights to and from India remain suspended from March 23, 2020, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

4. Jubilant to buy stake in Barbeque Nation 


•Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd will invest 792 crores to buy a 10.76% stake in Barbeque Nation Hospitality Ltd (BNHL), which runs the popular Barbeque Nation (BBQ) chain of restaurants. 

•The company will acquire 36,50,794 fully paid-up equity shares of the face value of 5 percent each aggregating to 10.76% stake in BNHL. 

•The all-cash deal is expected to conclude by 25 January 2021.

•Praj Industries has bagged a 226.90 crore order from Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL). 

•It is for the execution of Zero liquid discharge system water treatment package and waste water treatment package of Acrylic/Oxo-Alcohol Project at IOCL Dumad, Gujarat. 

•Praj Industries Limited is a process and project engineering company, headquartered in Pune.

6.App for virtual tour of Jaya He GVK New Museum 


•The Mumbai airport authorities have launched an app to offer a guided virtual tour of its Jaya He GVK Museum with over 5,000 pieces of artwork and artifacts. 

•The app, Jaya He Museum, is available on all play stores. 

•Passengers using the airport's Terminal 2 can also access a web version of the tour by scanning a QR code.

7. SEBI fines Reliance Industries 


•SEBI fined Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) and its chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani a total of 40 cr on Jan 1 for alleged manipulation in the trading of Reliance Petroleum Ltd's securities. 

•Fines of 25 cr and 215 cr have been imposed on RIL and Mr Ambani, respectively. 

•Two other entities, Navi Mumbai SEZ Pvt Ltd and Mumbai SEZ Ltd, have been fined 20 cr and 10 cr, respectively.

•Dr. Raghu Ram Pillarisetti, Director, KIMS-USHALAKSHMI Centre for Breast Disease, has found a place in the Queen Elizabeth II's 2021 New Year's honours list. 

•He was honoured with ‘OBE-Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire' 

•OBE is the second-highest-ranking Order of the British Empire award. 

•He is also a recipient of Padma Shri award and Dr BC Rov National award.

•Soma Mondal has taken over as first-ever woman head of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).

•She succeeds Anil Kumar Chaudhary, who superannuated on 31 December 2020. 

•Before joining SAIL as a Director, she was the Director (Commercial) at NALCO.

10. India, Pakistan exchange list of Nuclear sets 


•Pakistan and India conducted the annual practice of exchanging the list of their nuclear installations on 1 January 2021 under a bilateral arrangement. 

•It was made in accordance with Article-I! of the Agreement on Prohibition of Attacks against Nuclear Installations and Facilities between Pakistan and India, signed on December 31, 1988.

11. GHMC to add 650 more garbage collecting autos 


•The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has announced to add about 650 more garbage collecting autos. 

•Under the Swachh Hyderabad initiative, they are currently about 2,500 autos that collect garbage door to door in the early hours of the day on alternative days. 

•In Swachh Survekshan 2020, GHMC was awarded the No 1 rank in the ‘Best Mega City in Citizen Feedback’ category.
