Lunar Rover - Lunar Rover is also known as moon buggy. It designed to travel on the Moon surface. So far only three countries are only rovers on the Moon- USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics), USA (United States of America) and China. 

Lunokhod was the first vehicle landed on Moon by country USSR. So USSR is the first nation to make a lunar rover which reached moon's surface.

India also sent a Lunar Rover which was made in India only, but the Chandrayaan-2 crashed on the lunar(moon) surface.

Lyra - A small constellation which was first recorded by the 2nd century astronomer Ptomely. Its principal Star, Vega is one of the brightest star in the sky. Lyra also includes the star Kelper- 62 a 5 planet system discovered in April 2013.

1. Beijing, China: The former chairman of one of China's largest state-controlled asset management firms was sentenced to death Tuesday for soliciting $260 million in bribes, corruption and bigamy.

2. Lai Xiaomin, a former Communist Party member, gave a detailed confession on state broadcaster CCTV in January 2020, with footage of a Beijing apartment reportedly belonging to Lai replete with safes and cabinets stuffed with stacks of cash.

3. Lai, whose investigation started in April 2018, also embezzled over 25 million yuan ($3.8 million) in public funds between 2009 and 2018.

 1. GST Revenue collection recorded all time high 

•Over 1.15 lakh cr gross GST revenue was collected in Dec 2020 which is 12% higher than the GST revenues Dec 2019. 

•The gross GST revenue collected in Dec'20 is 2 115,174 cr of which CGST is 21,365 cr, SGST is 2 27,804 cr, and IGST is 57,426 cr. 

•The GST revenues during Dec'20 have been the highest since the introduction of GST and it is the first time that it has crossed 1.15 lakh cr.

2. New method of producing hydrogen peroxide 

•Scientists have found an efficient and inexpensive method for producing hydrogen peroxide. 

•Researchers from Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS) have shown that a chemical called Nickel cobalt phosphite (NiCo-Phi) decorated with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) can facilitate ORR to produce H202 selectively in high yield. 

•The research was published in the journal ChemElectroChem.

•China's Zhong Shanshan has become Asia's richest person, replacing India's Mukesh Ambani and a group of Chinese tech titans including Jack Ma. 

• Zhong’s net worth has surged $70.9 billion in 2021 to $77.8 billion, making him the 11th-richest person on the planet, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. 

•It's one of the fastest accumulations of wealth in history.

4. Indian Army creates a new human rights cell 

•The Indian Army has created a new human rights cell for greater transparency and probity in its functioning in disturbed areas like J&K and the northeast. 

•Major General Gautam Chauhan, who was commissioned into the Gorkha Rifles, has taken charge as the first additional director general (human rights) at the Army headquarters in New Delhi. 

•He will report directly to the Army Vice-Chief.

5. RBI introduces Digital Payments Index 

•The RBI has constructed a composite Digital Payments Index (DPI) to capture the extent of digitisation of payments across the country. 

•It comprises of five broad parameters that enable measurement of deepening and penetration of digital payments in the country over different time periods. 

•It has been constructed with March 2018 as the base period, with a DPI score for of 100.

6. Delhi govt extends water bill waiver scheme 

•The Delhi government has extended till March 31, 2021, its scheme offering a one-time waiver of water bill arrears and late payment surcharge. 

•Under the scheme, all categories of houses get an exemption from late fee payments, while their pending water bills are waived partly or fully depending on the housing category. 

•The scheme was launched in August 2020,

7. Indian Army signs contract with Goa Shipyard 

•The Indian Army has signed a contract with Goa Shipyard Limited for 12 fast patrol boats for surveillance and patrolling of large water bodies. 

•The boats would be used for patrols in high altitude regions. 

•The signing of the contract comes eight months after India first detected intrusions by Chinese soldiers into Indian territory including along the banks of the Pangong Tso lake.

•Bajaj Auto has become the first two-wheeler company across the globe to cross a market capitalisation of 1-lakh crore (around $13.6 billion).

•The company has its manufacturing facilities at Chakan near Pune, Waluj (Aurangabad) and Pantnagar (Uttrakhand).

•Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI) has imposed a total penalty of 215 lakh on Bharti AXA General Insurance Company.

• IRDAI imposed a penalty of 210 lakh on it for non-compliance with minimum obligations under regulations concerning third-party motor insurance business.

1. Indian automobile maker Mahindra and Mahindra is looking for financial or strategic investors for Mahindra Electric, the group's electric vehicle (EV) business. The firm wants to be a key player in mass market EVs, MD Pawan Goenka said. The company is also aiming for the high-end market through it's Europe based Automobili Pininfarina unit which is building Battista, an electric sports car.  

2. China on Monday in post sanctions on 11 US citizens, including 6 American lawmakers, for their egregious behaviour on Hongkong related issues. The targeted lawmakers are senators Ted Cruz, Macro Rubio, Tom Cotton, Josh Hawley, and Pat Toomey and representative Chris Smith. notably the move comes after the US impost sanctions against 11 Hong Kong and Chinese officials last week.

3. An Indonesian volcano bursted and as cloud 5 km into the sky on Monday in its second eruption in 3 days,a said. Footage of the eruption captured by residents showed the cloud of thick as rising from the peak of the 8071 feet Mount Sinabung. The sound was like thunder it lasted for less than 30 seconds resident said.

4. Apple has filled notice of opposition against meal preparation app 'Prepear' over its cartoon par logo claiming that it is similar to Apple's trademarked logo. Apple claims Prepear's logon would cause a dilution of distinctiveness of apples logo and confuse the users between the two companies. Apple is arguing that it is a violation of lanham act.

5. Ahead of Rajasthan assembly session scheduled to begin on August 14, CM Ashok Gehlot on Sunday, wrotw to all MLAs appealing to them to listen to the people's voice to save democracy and to stand by truth. people's mandate remains over and above everything you should extend full cooperation in filling promises made to the people, write Gehlot.

6. The World Bank expressed its inability to take an independent decision on the appointments of a neutral expert or a coat of arbitration for the settlement of a India-Pakistan water dispute over hydroelectric projects. It's outgoing country director of Pakistan, Patchamuthu Illangoan, said the country should choose one option bilaterally. World Bank is signatory to the Indus water treaty.

7. Mukesh Ambani's Reliance industries has a 15 year vision to build itself as one of the world's leading new energy companies, analysts said. It intends to use proprietary technology, recycle CO2 and create value from plastic waste, analysts at Bank of America securities said. RIL's core oil to chemical business is well placed to generate sustained free cash flow, they added.

8. Baba Ramdev Patanjali is considering building for the Indian Premier League or IPL title sponsorship following the exit of Chinese smartphone maker Vivo, according to a report by The Economic Times. "We are considering the IPL title sponsorship for this year, since we want to give the Patanjali brand a global marketing platform", Patanjali spokesperson SK Tijtawala told The Economic Times.

9. Saudi Aramco CEO Amin Nasser said the world's largest crude oil producer is still working on a deal for a 15 billion dollar investment in Reliance industries oil-to-chemicals business. In July, RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani said that deal is not in progressed  and as per original timeline due to " unforeseen" circumstances in energy market and Covid-19 situation. Aramco Was set to acquire a 20% stake.

10. Saudi Aramco's profit plunged by 73.4% in the June quarter, Amid slump in energy demand and oil prices due to the coronavirus crisis. The world's biggest oil exporter posted a quarterly net profit of 6.57 billion dollars, compared to 24.7 billion dollars in the year-ago period. However, the company said it still plans to pay 75 billion dollars in dividends this year. 

11. After Congress leader Rahul Gandhi described the daft environment impact assessment (EIA) as a "disaster", environment minister Prakash Javadekar said that those raising objections to the draft (EIA) notifications are the same people who talk with  "big  decisions without consultations" when they were in power. The minister added that Gandhi's call for protest is unnecessary and premature.

ब्रम्हपुत्र के बारेमे रोचक जानकारी निचे लिस्ट की हुई है -

1. एशिया और भारत की प्रमुख नदियों में एक नदी है पूर्वोत्तर भारत में बहने वाली ब्रम्हपुत्र नदी। 
2. ब्रम्हपुत्र का मतलब ब्रम्हा का पुत्र। 
3. प्रायः नदियों के नदियों के नाम स्त्रीलिंगी रहते है पर ब्रम्हपुत्र इसे अपवाद है। 
4. ब्रम्हपुत्र अंतर देशीय सिमा से बहती है - तिब्बत (अब चीन), भारत और फिर बांग्लादेश से  हुई बंगाल की खाड़ी में सागर से मिलती है। 
5. ब्रम्हपुत्र विविध नामो से जानी जाती है - जैसे तिब्बत में "यार्लुंग त्संगपो" नामसे जानी जाती है। 
6. तिब्बत के बाद यह नदी बहती हुई अरुणाचल प्रदेश में आती है जहाँ की जनता इसे "सियांग और दिहांग" भी कहती है। 
7. वैसे भारतीय लोग इसे ब्रम्हपुत्र ही कहते है पर असम के बोडो समुदाय ने इसे "भुल्लम बुथुर" नाम दिया है जिसका मतलब है "कल कल की आवाज निकालना"। 
8. चीनी भाषा में इसे "या-लू-त्सांग-पु चियांग" या "यरलुंग जैंगबो जियांग" कहा गया है। 
9. बांग्लादेशी लोग इसे जमुना कहते है। इसे यमुना के साथ मत जोड़ें क्युकी दोनों अलग अलग है। 
10. उद्गम को लेकर कई मान्यताये है - जैसे कुछ उद्धरण के हिसाबसे मानसरोवर से इसका उद्भव हुआ है जबकि कई सर्वक्षकों ने ये पाया की मानसरोवर के पास नेपाल और हिमालय पर्वत शृंखला के उत्तर भाग तथा तिब्बत के बुरंग प्रदेश में आता है। इस परिसर में इसे यारलुंग त्सांगपो नदी कहा जाता है। 
11. ब्रम्हपुत्र का उद्गम स्थान समुद्र सतह से ५२१० मी की उचाई पर है। 
12. अब ४००० मी की समुद्री तट से औसत उचाई पर दक्षीण तिब्बत में पूर्व दिशा में यह नदी करीब करीब १७०० किमी  बहती है। 
13. इसके बाद यह अरुणाचल प्रदेश में हिमालय के बार्वा पर्वत के पास दक्षिण पश्चिम दिशा में मुड़कर आती है। फिर आसाम और बांग्लादेश में बहती है। 
14. बांग्लादेशमे यह नदी कई शाखाओ में बात जाती है - इसलिए यह एक लटकार नदी का अच्छा उदाहरण है। 
15. गंगा नदी की पद्मा शाखा को मिलने के बाद ब्रम्हपुत्र मेघना नामसे जानी जाती है। 
16. यह दुनिया की १५वी सबसे लम्बी नदी है। इसकी लम्बाई ३८४८ किमी है। 
17. सबसे ज्यादा १२० मी गहराई है पर औसतन गहराई ३८ मी है। 
18. वसंत ऋतू में जब बर्फ पिघलती है तब ब्रम्हपुत्र नदी में बाढ़ आने की संभावनाए ज्यादा होती है। 
19. समुद्रमे मिलने वाले पानी का दर अगर देखा जाये तो ब्रम्हपुत्र दुनियाकी सबसे बड़ी नदियोमेसे दसवे क्रमांक पर आती है।  औसतन दर १९,८०० घन मी / सेकंद तथा बाढ़ के समय का दर १,००,००० घन मी / सेकंद है। 
20. ज्वारीय  बोर का लक्षण बताने वाली कुछ नदियों में से एक नदी यह भी है - ब्रम्हपुत्र (मेघना)। ज्वारीय बोर मतलब नदी के मुहाने पर उर्ध्व प्रवाह में चलने वाली उच्च ज्वारीय तरंग। 
21. १८८४-८६ के दरमियान हुए सर्वेक्षण में ब्रम्हपुत्र का ऊपरी भाग मतलब यारलुंग त्संगपो पता चल पाया। तबतक यह बात अनजानी थी। अब इसे त्सांगपो-ब्रम्हपुत्र कहा जाता है।
22. तिब्बत में नदी के दक्षिण में हिमालय शृंखल तथा उत्तर में कैलाश शृंखला है। 
23. तिब्बत में राका जांगबो (राका त्सांगपो), ल्हासा और न्यांग को (ञमडा) यह तीन नदिया अलग अलग जगहों पर मिलती है।  
24. दिबांग और लोहित नामक नदिया असम घाटी में ब्रम्हपुत्र से मिलती है। 
25. असम में उत्तरी पर्वत शृंखलाओं से  कामेंग, सुबनसिरी, भरेली, धनसिरी, मानस, चंपामती, सरलभंगा, संकोश यह नदिया ब्रम्हपुत्र में आ मिलती है। 
26. दक्षिण दिशाकी पर्वतो की रेखासे बुरहि दिहिंग, दिसांग, दिखू तथा कोपीली नदिया भी ब्रम्हपुत्र के पात्र में मिलती है। 
27. असम के डिब्रूगढ़ और लखीमपुर जिले में ब्रम्हपुत्र के दो प्रवाह हो जाते है - उत्तरी खेरकुटिआ प्रवाह और दक्षिणी ब्रम्हपुत्र। १०० किमी के प्रवास के बाद यह दोनों प्रवाह आपसमे मिल जाते है। इस जगह जो द्वीप बना है उसे माजुली द्वीप कहते है। 
28. माजुली द्वीप दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा ऐसा द्वीप है जो नदीमे बना है। 
29. असम में ब्रम्हपुत्र नदी सबसे चौड़ी मतलब २०किमी है। 
30. गुवाहाटी के पास हाजो तीर्थस्थल के करीब शिलाँग पहाड़ी मैदान में ब्रम्हपुत्र चौड़ाई मात्र १किमी रह जाती है। 
31. सन १६७१ में सराईघाट की लड़ाई ब्रम्हपुत्र के इसी सबसे संकीर्ण प्रवाह के पास हुई। 
32. अप्रेल १९६२ में ब्रम्हपुत्र पर बना पहला रेल - सड़क संयुक्त सेतु परिवहन हेतु लोकार्पित किया गया था। 
33. भारत के धुबुरी के निचे गारो पहाड़ियों  दक्षिण में हुए ब्रम्हपुत्र बांग्लादेश के मैदानों में जा पोहोचती है। 
34. चीलमारी बांग्लादेश में बहने के बाद तीस्ता नदी ब्रम्हपुत्र को बांग्लादेशमे मिलती है। इसके बाद  जमुना के नामसे पुकारा जाता है। 
35. तीस्ता संगम के बाद दक्षिण गायबंदा के पास नदी फिरसे दो भागो में बात जाती है - दक्षिण की तरफ जमुना तथा पूर्व की तरफ पूर्व ब्रम्हपुत्र। 
36. इसकेबाद गंगा से मिलने के पहले जमुना में बराल, अटरै तथा हुरासागर नदियोंके प्रवाह दाहिने तरफ से मिलते है। और बायीं तरफ से एक प्रवाह धालेस्वरी नदी की तरफ जाता है। 
37. धालेस्वरी नदी की सहायक बुरीगंगा नदी ढाका से बहते हुए मुंशीगंज के पास मेघना नदी से मिलती है। 
38. जमुना जिसमे ज्यादा पानी बेहता है वो  गोआलुंडो घाट के उत्तर में गंगा की शाखा पद्मा से मिलती है। उसके बाद पूरा नदी प्रवाह अनेक शाखाओं में बटता हुआ गंगा-ब्रम्हपुत्र डेल्टा को सींचते हुए बहता है। 
39. पूर्व ब्रम्हपुत्र दक्षिण-पूर्व में घूमती हुई मेघना नदी से ढाका के पास मिलती है। 
40. चांदपुर के पास पद्मा और मेघना नदियोंका संगम होता है जिसे आगे मेघना कहा जाता है। जो बंगाल की खाड़ी में  समाहित होती है। 
41. गंगा डेल्टा का क्षेत्रफल ५९,५७० वर्ग किमी है। यह दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा नदी का दहाना है। 
42. पूरी ब्रम्हपुत्र नदी का पात्र ६,५१,३३४ वर्ग किमी है।
