Properties of whole numbers

Hello friends in this article you are going to read the properties of whole numbers.

1. Closure property- Whole numbers are closed under addition and multiplication.
Ex- 5+6=11, here all numbers are whole numbers.
3X4= 12, here all are whole numbers.

Whole numbers are not closed under subtraction and division.
Ex- 5- 7= -2, here 5 and 7 are whole numbers but -2 is a negative integer.
3÷2= 1.5, here 3 and 2 are whole numbers but 1.5 is a decimal.

2. Commutative property- If we change the order of multiplication or addition in  whole numbers we will get the same answer.
Ex- 5+6=11, 6+5=11. So, 5+6=6+5.
 3 x 4= 12, 4 x 3= 12. So,  3 x 4=4 x 3.

3. Associative property- When we add or multiply any 3 numbers in any order then we will get the same answer.
Ex- 5+6+11=22, 6+5+11=22. So, 5+6+11=5+6+11.
 3 x 4 x 2=24,  x 2=24. So,  3 x 4 x 2= x 2.

4. Distributive property- If ax(b+c)= d, then axb+cxb= d too.
