Perhaps one of the most intriguing natural phenomena is colorful rain falling from sky. One of the example is red rain it is also called blood rain. In fact, before the 17 century it was actually believed that blood fell from the sky. In 19 century, however, the scientific causes of blood rain were examined and it was found that the red color occurs due to 'rain dust' that is fine dust particles in the air which dissolves in the water as it descends. It is generally believed that this dust dust comes from deserts and dry swarms where it is picked up by winda and dispersed high into air. Blood rain is highly, alkaline {the opposite of acid rain} and contains traces of metals and their compounds. Sometime, the red color of the rain is also attribute to the presence of microorganisms like algae and fungi.
