Chess player- Isidor gunsberg

Isidor Gunsberg is a grandmaster. He was born on Nov 2, 1854 and died at the age of 75 on  May 2, was 1930. He was at Pest, Kingdom  of Hungary. His federation was international. 

A relatively unknown name in the chess world, Isidor Gunsberg was a force to be reckoned with in the late 1800s. With wins over noted players such as Mikhail Chigorin, Joseph Blackburne and Henry Bird, his rise to the top was praiseworthy. His biggest claim to fame was when he played in a world championship match against Wilhelm Steinitz, losing by a very close score. Despite never getting the world champion title, Gunsberg was still viewed as one of the best players in his day.

Isidor Gunsberg began his career as a chess player when he operated the remote-controlled chess computer Mephisto. In 1885 he won a national tournament in London by a wide margin and a month later he won the 4th German Chess Congress tournament. Later he achieved wins over Joseph Blackburne, Henry Bird and Mikhail Chigorin in matches. After these wins, Gunsberg decided to challenge Steinitz for the World Championship. Even though he lost, it was a very close match with a score of 4 wins, 6 losses and 9 draws.
