Nutrients in our food part-3

Hello friends in this article you are going to read about nutrients in our food. In previous parts you read about nutrients, proteins, carbohydrates and fats. So read them first.

So after all this we will look after Vitamins. Vitamins are of many kinds- A, B, C, D, E and K. Vitamins are protective food, they help to fight to the diseases. So vitamins are very important. Mainly fresh fruits and vegetables give us all required vitamins.

Vitamin A helps to maintain good eyes and healthy skins. Some sources are carrots, milk and papaya. 

Vitamin B is required for strong muscles and energy. Wheat and rice are good sources of Vitamin B. The vitamin B is further classified- Vitamin B-1, B-2, B-3, B-5, B-6, B-7, B-9, B-12.

Vitamin C is required for good gums. Citrus fruits, like lemon, orange.

 Vitamin D helps in maintaining strong bones and help to absorb calcium properly. Sources are milk, butter and ghee another source of vitamin D is sunlight.

Vitamin E helps to prevent diseases like cataract and cancer. Almonds and fresh vegetables are good source of  Vitamin E.

Vitamin K helps in blood Vitamin K helps in blood clotting, bone metabolism, and regulating blood calcium levels. It is also classified like Vitamin B. Vitamin K-1, K-2 are the categories of Vitamin K. The sources of Vitamin K are green leafy vegetables.
